2017 SCHOLARSHIPS
|
The Trenchard Foundation announced that it has awarded two $20,000 scholarships to 2017 area high school graduates. Both are outstanding students.

Ciara Sullivan of Kermit was a Varsity Cheerleader, who participated in AVID Tutoring, NSHSS, UIL Spelling & Vocabulary and Yearbook while maintaining perfect attendance, helping to home school her younger siblings and working a part time job. Ciara plans to attend Prairie View A&M University with a major in education/mathematics. |

Briyith Zubia of Kermit was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Senior Class Secretary and participated in Volleyball, Cross Country, Varsity Basketball, Track & Field, Power Lifting and much more. She has received many honors and awards. She also volunteered for the Salvation Army, Senior Citizens, Veterans, and several Church projects. She plans to attend Texas Tech University with a major in engineering/mathematics. |

The Trenchard Foundation announced that it has awarded two $12,000 scholarships to 2016 area high school graduates. Both are outstanding students.

Vanessa Palma of Hobbs, NM was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council and Hobbs High School Spanish Club. She was the 2015 Top Community Service Student Council Member, 1st place Student Council Project Boards, 1st place “Festival Romantico”, one of five finalists for Maddox Scholarship and is Valedictorian of her class of 422 students. She worked for the City of Hobbs as Summer Recreation Counselor last summer. Vanessa plans to attend Texas Tech and would like to become an oncology nurse practitioner. |

Aracely Escarcega of Kermit was a member of the choir, National Honor Society Treasurer, Girls Track and Field manager, Yearbook committee and UIL accounting. She made the Superintendent’s Honor Roll, was Senior Class Treasurer and was selected Rotary Student for the month of January. She has been a volunteer worker for St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and has participated in many projects helping the community. Aracely plans to attend UTPB with a major in business. She hopes to become a CPA. |
